LILLIAN PISNI (nee BLOOM) 1924 - 2007 In her 82nd year, it is with profound sadness that we announce the February 14, 2007 passing of our mother and grandmother. She leaves, her son, Michael (Claire) and her granddaughters, Morgan and Kirsten in Winnipeg; Tahra, Sabrina and Melissa in Ontario. She was predeceased by her husband, Nick, and daughter, Joan. Mom spent her youth in London, England, where she suffered the loss of her family home during a blitz. She was determined to make the best of a terrible situation and was soon swept off her feet by a handsome Canadian soldier. Lil and Nick were married and following the war she was allowed to follow him to Canada. She joined hundreds of eager young war brides aboard the Aquitania as they made their way, full of hope, to a better life. Lil and Nick raised their children in Toronto and eventually retired in Belleville. Lil moved to Winnipeg to live out her final years near her son. A family service will be held in Belleville at a later date. We wish to thank all of the caring staff at Riverview for the kindness shown to mom.
